State-of-the-Art Forum - Exploring the New Normal
The 2011 State-of-the-Art Forum “Exploring the New Normal” is Bertelsmann's response to the knowledge challenges that arise from a rapidly changing business environment.
“Exploring the New Normal” will address four related themes: The development of new markets, a deepened understanding of trends in consumer behavior patterns and media technology, an organisation’s ability to innovate and renew itself, and the current state of the economic environment. The title refers to the post-crisis situation the economy is in, often referred to as the “New Normal”, and indicates that this situation offers a range of opportunities for innovation, renewal and change that can be explored. The economic crisis has been a test for companies around the world, and some ambiguity still remains. At the same time, shifts in technology, consumer behaviour and market structures continue to occur simultaneously. In this environment, the ability to innovate, change, and to explore new business opportunities is essential for companies in order to grow and succeed. Exploring the New Normal aims to help participants achieve this objective.
Goals and Content
As in previous years, the State-of-the-Art Forum will provide delegates from all divisions with a combination of best practice and cutting-edge know how. High calibre speakers and workshops encourage participants to join their Bertelsmann colleagues in questioning assumptions that are usually taken for granted, and to explore new ways of thinking about business opportunities.
Target Group
The target group for the State-of-the-Art Forum has remained the same as in previous years: Exploring the New Normal is appropriate for both general managers and experts in areas such as business development, marketing and technology.
Seniority of participants should be at least SVP, Managing Director or equivalent. Participants are nominated for Bertelsmann University programs by the Divisional Head of HR.
Date & Place
The event will take place November 9-11, 2011 in Istanbul, Turkey.
