To mark the launch of the “Visual Data Analytics” e-learning platform, Bertelsmann University and its partner reportingimpulse raffled off five access codes for the new offering. Colleagues from more than 10 countries submitted handwritten, digital, and animated entries.
“Visualize up to four data sets from your life” – that was the task set in the “Visual Data-Challenge,” in which Bertelsmann employees were able to give free rein to their creativity in the field of data processing and visualization in June (see article). The winners of the campaign now have one year of access to the new “Visual Data Analytics” e-learning platform developed by Bertelsmann University together with its partner reportingimpulse. On the digital learning platform, they can learn how to handle complex data anytime, anywhere, expand their knowledge of the processing and visualization of data, prepare smart and well-conceived visualizations, work on standardizations, or develop existing standards. And the winners are: Dorette Peters from Verlagsgruppe Random House in Germany, Kelly Austin from Penguin Random House in the U.S., Sergey Bobrovskikh from Arvato Supply Chain Solutions in Russia, Susu Koch from Arvato Supply Chain Solutions in Germany, and Ye Jin Lee from BMG in Germany.
More than 50 handwritten, digital, and animated entries from ten countries – including Spain, Luxembourg, Mexico, and Argentina in addition to those already mentioned – were received. “We’re thrilled by the many creative entries from all over the world,” says Antje Dräger of Bertelsmann University. “This shows us how relevant the issue of big data and thus the targeted communication of data is. To offer a sustainable continuing education program, Bertelsmann University is currently working with Corporate IT on a ‘Data Science Curriculum,’ which is expected to be available to all employees via peoplenet in the last quarter of this year.”
We would like to thank all participants for their entries and hope the five winners enjoy the “Visual Data Analytics” e-learning platform. Further information about Bertelsmann’s diverse learning content and formats can be found on the Bertelsmann University website. (benet)
